The Annual Survey of India’s City-Systems (ASICS) is a health diagnosis of our cities. It evaluates the quality of laws, policies, institutions and institutional processes that impact the quality of life in urban India. States are scored on a scale of 0 to 10; the higher the score, the better the strength of urban laws.

Our aim is to improve quality of life, especially for women and the urban poor, by improving the quality of city infrastructure and services.

The Research and Insights (R&I) team, while operating as a strand in itself, also operates as a horizontal across all programs in Janaagraha. R&I supports all programmatic monitoring, evaluation and learning while also providing other relevant data, insights and thought leadership to support and further the mission and vision of the organisation.
